Central Coast surfboat rowers will form a guard of honour with their oars
tomorrow when they send off Terrigal surfboat captain Bruce Thoroughgood.
Thoroughgood 55, died suddenly at his Umina Beach home last Wednesday. His son Brett
found him slumped in the Terrigal surfboat he was working on. He suffered a blod
clot to the heart but had no previous health problems.
Thoroughgood rowed for Umina surf club and then had eight seasons at Terrigal
that included winning a bronze medal with the Terrigal reserve boat crew in 2004.
The service for Bruce was held at 12:30pm on Thursday 17 April at the Hillside
Chapel, Palmdale Memorial Park.
